Should England bring in a law to preserve Englishness?

Postby darrell » Sun Feb 26, 2012 8:53 pm

I am worried that mass immigration will change the character of England. So I think a law should be passed to prevent foreigners from taking over.

Alas England does not have a Parliament or an assembly to even be alowed to represent themselves.

Just a joint UK one, seems a little unfair to me..

Should England bring in a law to preserve Englishness?

It depends what 'Englishness' is. I think you'll find that the English are genetically a mixture of different European races, so it'd be very difficult to define the law to preserve Englishness.

If you mean a law to prevent immigration to England, I'm not sure how you'd do that as there's no border with Scotland and there are many Scots living in England and many English folks living in Scotland.

If you mean a law to prevent people who don't have blond hair and blue eyes from living in England, I think you might want to check out Hitler's ideas....

If you mean you want to amend existing immigration law to reduce immigration drastically, you'd need to a) prevent folks tting arranged marriages overseas bringing them back to the UK and getting citizenship (I agree that this is a mickey-taking back-door way of getting into the UK and staying) and
b) prevent folks from other EU countries living here (you'd need to change the EU treaties about being able to work anywhere in Europe).

Not sure how possible b) is, but a) is certainly doable for the entire UK.

I'm English but my parents are not - woud I be allowed to stay under your draconian rules? Would I need a passport to return from visiting family in Edinburgh?...

How do you define "Englishness"? May sound like a strange question, but if you want to protect it, you have to define in law exactly what it is.

And does a country changing its character really matter? Surely this is a never ending process that has always been happening.

Mass immigration had changed the UK. America is going in the same direction unless the people educate themselves and nip progressivism in the butt. Secure your borders and language. It is time for the English to have their own tea party.

So define "englishness" then.

You obviously have no idea of the history or heritage of the British isles.

ALL our ancestors are immigrants you know?
And those immigrants do all the dirty jobs none of us "English" folk want to do, or even know about. They keep our Country running.
