Should I move on and forget this girl?

In my previous question I asked if I should stay by this girls side however, I treated this girl like a gem and to sum it up when she was so busy working, and doing community service we never had much time to spend with each other I walk her to class, and to her car and said goodbye. Eventually she told me she like to take it slow, so being understanding I take it slow. Then a few days later she tells me I'm everything she wants in a man i'm like a fantasy to good to be true, but my heart isn't feeling it, and i'm not ready for a relationship yet. Then a few days later after her moms miscarriage I backed off but she texted me so i thought she was feeling better, and I asked if she been feeling better and her response was that "I'm okay it's just I been trying to create distance...I don't want to get too attached likewise same for you" so understand im getting mixed messages, and I just want her to be upfront what am I. So i asked for clarifacation and she was furious, I pretty much told her look im here to support you but if im just a friend, and then you can't even give a benefit of that, I will not waste my energy doing things to show support and make you smile because it's not fair to me. After her infuriated explanation we been on, and off texting for 2 weeks and she began sitting seperatly from me in college. I apologized, and I offered to take her to lunch and yet she declined due to a busy schedule I showed i'm willing to reconcile, but understand i'm not going to chase her. I maybe text every 3 days out of the blue to see if she's okay and make small talk, but what should i do if I really care for this girl? Should I continue to text her every 3 days to show she is still on my mind and im their to support her? or should i just drop her altogether and if she initiates contact then talk to her otherwise move on? I'm here to stay, and I never treated her bad nothing but nicely and how a gentleman should and she admitted she never met a man like me so whats the best course of action with this girl?
