Shouldn't a husband take his wife's side?

Your brother in law was right. He wasn't taking up for the lady.

Shouldn't a husband take his wife's side?

Just because two people are married doesn't mean they're not allowed to have their own personal opinions. Its true, you never know what a stranger is dealing with. Being on food stamps implies that times are tough for her, but that doesn't mean she had to be rude to your sister, and your sister is allowed to react however she wants because this stranger doesn't know what your sister might be dealing with. But no, her husband doesn't have to agree with how your sister acted. Your sister didn't have to sink down to the other persons level. It would have said more about her character had she ignored it, but it just shows that she's just as crazy when she insults her right back. Your sisters husband at least protected your sister from bodily harm, but he wouldn't have had to if she wouldn't have engaged the woman that was being nasty to her.

WHat your sister did was wrong and your husband was right . Your sister got mad at something that wasn't true and judged her then by saying what she said to the woman did make her look like that. She could have had mental issues I saw a video where this tiny girls keep call this larger woman names cuz she cut in line and well the larger woman finally had enough and that tiny little girl was a human rag doll.
You just said something petty what started this and what should have her husband done that he didn't do right? From what i read he was compassionate and brave. So what if they used food stamps some people have to just hope someday you don't. So think about it and what people are going threw now. I sure am not trashy and i do know who my children's father is and i may have holes in my old clothes and I have to eat I worked for a very good company and now I don't take note from your bro in law.

I think that your sister went way over the top whith the woman but if it's true she started it, f u c k her. On the other side, your brother in law has a right to have an opinion of his own which probably most people would agree with anyway because it is wrong to shame someone for how poor they are.
However, I hate humanity so I'd probably do the same but I wouldn't doubt putting you and your sister down any minute for being scum.
I'm not one to trust on these matters but, hey! You asked!

A husband should always take his wife's side no matter what.
