So How Exactly Does Gasoline Enter The Crankcase Of The Lawn-Mower

Postby moncreiffe26 » Thu Jan 02, 2014 1:46 am

I've an LT1000 craftsman lawn-mower and it keeps acquiring gasoline in to the crankcase. I immediately believed the carb so i washed it, disassembled it and examine the needle and seat and if it was dripping in addition to all had been wonderful and seeing if the drift examined the solenoid and had a hole in it. So what im asking is in what different ways may well gasoline enter the crankcase a damaged band or what? Please support somebody im totally confused right here haha any information could be appreciated Cheers!

How Does Gas Get Into The Crankcase Of A Lawn Mower

Only connection is through the carb and the intake. Rings does not matter in the equation, they are not tight sufficient anyhow. If gas was sitting in the combustion chamber(s) it'd seep through eventually. But gas should not be there to start off with.   dabac 16 months ago

Usually happens when a little piece of crud keeps the needle valve a little bit open. Or if you have a mean neighbor. There's another connection through the crankcase breather, but that's a very unlikely path.   Ancient_Hacker 16 months ago

I've typically seen it happen when the float isn't stopping the gas properly and it trickles out of the carbeurator into the cylinder - where it leaks past the piston rings into the crnkcase.   TheLightWorks 16 months ago
