Spanish inheritance law?

Postby hob97 » Tue Oct 20, 1992 10:16 am

My parents live in a property in Spain which is held in joint names. They are residents and both over 70 years old. My father has just passed away and we wondered if any tax is due when my father's half of the house is handed over to my mother. Any help greatly appreciated

Yes, unfortunately Inheritance Tax is due under these circumstances. I have enclosed a link that will tell you how and to who it will be applied ...http://www.tumbit.com/how-to-guides/articles/25-inheritance-tax-in-spain.html
