This stuff is getting old. 10PM is a descent hour to go home. Theres nobody listening but squirrels. Rights are being overdefined down to shouting into a bucket on a Sunday morning in the rain. Doesnt that sound ridiculous?   fenjo 26 months ago

I'm just tired of the constant, petty squabling,I guess. I feel their pain. It's just that they're trying to milk the system for everything it's got. Look at all the millions of taxpayer money this is costing already. I dont think it will go anywhere. Corporations are sitting back laughing.   fenjo 26 months ago

@charlie95We aren't angry at wealthy. We are angry at the crooks. People who came by their wealth honestly would be wise to support the cause because the crooks will be coming for their money next. They'll get it with taxes and steal it through the government. The politicians are owned by the corporations. The only power that we, the people have is in our numbers, which is why the powers that be work night and day to keep us divided.   hipnek 26 months ago

Want to know who's clueless? The Occupy Wall Street group, who don't know who comprises the 1%.These folks welcome Russell Simmons(Def Jam) who has his own bank........who issues his RushCard - you put your money into his card and then pay $9.95/month for the right to draw out your own money. Simmons, who has an estimated net worth of about $340 million(yes, that's million) has visited the OWS site time and time again. Watch MSNBC and you'll see him there, sympathizing with the protestors. Yep, the same protestors who are protesting against the wealthy. There's the mega-wealthy Simmons protesting against the wealthy. Probably on the way to talk over his stock and bond portfolio with his broker just down the street. You know, the Wall Street broker who helps Simmons make lots more money from his investments. Confirm at http://www.rushcard.com/aboutus.aspx and http://news.yahoo.com/russell-simmons-rushcard-185749008.htmlJust Googled this topic - some of the OWS people finally figured out Simmons is not only one of the 1%, he's way up there, not down among the barely wealthy.Wonder if they still believe Michael Moore is one of them?? I suspect Moore is gathering information for his next movie. Now Moore looks poor - fat, poorly dressed, bad haircut. But his stock portfolio is no doubt in the hands of a Wall Street firm, and he is definitely a multimillionaire. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/10/29/michael-moore-blogs-i-can_n_1065381.htmlHe's probably using them...........so it's okay for them to use him. I suppose.   charlie95 26 months ago http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/10_27/b4185021575111.htm

I'm waiting for the ACLU to file a lawsuit on behalf of people deprived of the use of parks across the country because of the Occupy protestors..........but I am not holding my breath.I agree with fenjo: this occupy business is getting old, and the 'occupiers' forget the advice of the fellow who wrote the book on protests, whose advice schooled Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and others: If you push a positive long enough, it becomes a negative. See Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals: "A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag."   charlie95 26 months ago http://www.crossroad.to/Quotes/communism/alinsky.htm

Good. The ACLU has a good case and a judge agreed. The curfew was enacted to specifically limit the demonstrations. If the city had a case they'd nail the demonstrators for disturbing the peace. Since they weren't disturbing the peace, why the curfew?   stanleybmanly 26 months ago

No, I am not saying demonstrating equates to communism. Just saying that Saul Alinsky's Rules for Radicals laid out rules for demonstrating. Try reading the book. Demonstrating earned women the right to vote, with their efforts culminating in the Nineteenth Amendment to the Constitution being ratified in August 1920. These demonstrations took place before Saul Alinsky was old enough to shave. Demonstrating earned black Americans the rights they have today. I don't think either group squatted in a park for weeks on end. I do recall reading that the women picketed in front of the White House. I recall the black Americans and the whites(primarily Jewish) who worked to help them achieve equality picketed in front of stores and in front of government buildings. I am being neither silly nor clueless. I am being a student of history. The link happened to be the first one Google brought up when I wanted to verify the quote I recalled from reading Alinsky's Rules for Radicals. Try it: I typed in Saul Alinsky rules for radicals. Nothing devious. Just Google's search engine at work.   charlie95 26 months ago
