The international incident about to happen -- What do you think will be the outcome ?

Postby leland » Wed Apr 06, 2011 9:10 pm

An Iranian aid ship, destined for Palestinians, has reportedly entered Egyptian waters and scheduled to dock at the port of Gaza on Saturday.
According to IRIB, the ship, with 2000 tons of humanitarian aid, passed through the Suez Canal and will head for Gaza "After obtaining needed permissions".

And why would I think it is about to become an international incident ?

Israel attacks UN convoy amid ceasefire

Israeli forces have reportedly opened fire on a UN relief agency convoy in the Gaza Strip during its 3-hour military ceasefire.

When attacked, the Dignity was clearly in international waters, 90 miles off the coast of Gaza," the group said on its website. "The gunboats also fired their machine guns into the water in an attempt to stop the mercy ship from getting to Gaza.

"Israel thumbs its nose in the face of maritime law by attacking a human rights boat in international waters and has put all of these human rights observers at risk.

"At no time was the Dignity ever close to Israeli waters. They clearly identified themselves, and the Israeli attack was wilful and criminal."

------------------------------

Yep Israel has attacked 2 ships and here Iran is sailing right in --- Iran who they want an excuse to attack

So what will be the headlines on Saturday or Sunday ?

Iran delivers weapons of mass destruction ?
Iran attacks Israeli ship using humanitarian aid as cover ?
Or Iranians open fire Israel sinks ship war declared ?

--------------------

Will the Israeli's be able to pass up a moment like this given their behavior as of late ?

This is interesting.

But, I can't believe Israel attacked another humanitarian boat during this confrontation.

If it's Iranian, and I am the Israeli commander in charge, I'd blow the goddamn thing right out of the water. Why would anyone trust the Iranians. These are the low life bastards behind this whole fiasco, and if given half a chance to retaliate, Israel will probably consider it.

Then again, Israel may let it unload if it's in their power to do so but will check every item coming off this ship, to make sure it is no more than humanitarian aide.

As a former Marine, we learned early on that red crosses on ambulances were no more than bulls eyes for the enemy. Dignity, or anything else that acts as a mercy conveyance, could very easily be a screen for bringing in arms and war materials. Certainly a tactic that Iran would employ !

It will either be searched and allowed to dock in Gaza, or be diverted to Tel Aviv or another Israeli port, offloaded and inspected.

It is very unlikely that Iran would be stupid enough to try and bring in arms that blatantly.

Hamas is trying to appear to be the oppressed underdog. Doing something stupid like that would blow their cover.
