Can i get into trouble for this?
I went to the gas station to pump gas and when i ran my debit card the screen said "call card issuer" which i thought was weird because i know i have funds in the bank so i re ran card as credit and it went thru..i pumped 70$ worth of gas and when i got home i checked my bank account online and it said -22 cents..apparently one of my auto pays took out 1 week to early and my account went into the negative hence the reason i couldn't run it as debit but since i ran it as credit and pumped 70 in gas when it hits the system will i get into trouble with the law for NSF ( non sufficient funds) or will the bank cover it and hit me with a overdraft fee?

They already covered it if you got the gas. You will have an overdraft fee.

No, you won't get in trouble with the law, whatever that means.

Worse case, they may reject the transaction, and then you'll be contacted by the gas station. You might have all kinds of extra fees.

But they're not going to put you in jail or anything like that.

Depends on the bank but most banks will just charge overdraft fee.
