Traffic light rules and regulations?

Postby jan46 » Tue Jul 31, 2012 1:01 am

just say you are being tailgated, and the light changed from green to yellow and if you brake, you will get rear ended, so you pass the traffic light at yellow, technically did I break the law, what if you pass the intersection at yellow and by the time you crossed or nearly finish crossing, it turned red, would you have broke any laws? I am from an asian country, but traffic rules in most country is more a less the same, what is your opinions on this?

Yellow just means to slow down because it will be turning red, if you are at a certain speed and being followed closely, then you should go through the light even if it turns red in mid-intersection as to avoid a collision. Most lights have a delay anyway, and the instant your side turns red, there is about 3-4 seconds before the other side turns green, because of situations like this. A police officer wouldn't pull you over for doing this. Now if the light IS red, and you go through it, yes a ticket it likely.

Traffic light rules and regulations?

When someone tailgates me I am the biggest a**hole. I will keep close to the car beside me so they can't pass either of us. I will slam on the brakes sometimes, I will intentionally slow down.

If I see you coming and I'm in the passing lane, I'll move out of the way, but don't tailgate me, you're going nowhere with that.
