Traffic ticket not entered into system?

Postby culley96 » Fri Jun 08, 2012 9:40 pm

On april 24th i got a ticket citation for talking on my cell phone. I have been trying to pay the ticket online but whenever i enter my drivers license number in the ticket payer or anything like that it says no citation on this record..i also entered the ticket number and there is no record of it on file..i called the lasuperior court number and tried to do it on there but it also said there is no record of it there too. does this mean my ticket got lost or something? I just want to pay it off and have it be over with so i dont have to go to traffic court or anything. what should i do if on my court date (June 28th) there is still no record of it? should i just not go to court and let it go? has this happened to anyone? i dont want to get a warrant for not showing up to court because im on probation and that would be bad. someone give me some advice!

Traffic ticket not entered into system?

Yes it has happened to me. I had a ticket that was "lost" for almost 10 months. I went to court on my date and they didnt have a record for it. I just figured it was forgotten. Shortly after my court date, I moved. Well they sent a new court date to my old address. I never got they notice, and a warrent for a failure to appear was issued for me. I later learned that in my state (Missouri) they can file a ticket up to 1 year after the issue date. My advice is to just keep checking on it, or it could grow into a bigger problem.

Pay it!!
I'm pretty sure this is just some BS tactic that the police are now using to get more money. My friend had a $200 ticket but decided not to show to court because he didn't get anything in the mail. 1 year later he had to pay $900 and got his license suspended. I thought it may have been an accident but a buddy of mine and I both just got tickets. Him for pulling over in a red zone and me for speeding 9 over. We haven't received anything in the mail and nothing is online. And both times that we called the court they said "the lady isn't in today". Just go to the court before you're court date and pay it to the clerk.
