Two of my bridesmaids quit?

Postby danil70 » Sun Jul 29, 2012 4:46 pm

That's ridiculous! I had a similiar problem when looking for dresses with my maids. I found one that was everything I was looking for, was at a great price, and looked unbelievable on everyone! My MOH of course "hated" the dress but everyone else is crazy for them.

She told me multiple times that since she's MOH, she should be wearing her own dress... not the same one as everyone else. I stood my ground (I think she just wanted to stand out.. it's how she is) and thankfully she didn't back out on me.

Good for you for sticking to your guns! You've done nothing unreasonable here!

Two of my bridesmaids quit?

I think your FSIL handled the situation poorly. She should have spoken directly with you, not sent a group email. However, had she approached you, it seems you would have launched into bridezilla mode anyhow. It is a poor attitude to think you can put your friends in any dress you want regardless of their comfort. It doesn't matter that you thought it was a nice dress, she had concerns, and you should have heard her out. You were demanding too much of these grown women and it is you that looks bad in all this.

I would apologize and let them know you're just happy to have them at your wedding to share the day with you. They don't need to be bridesmaids and they can wear whatever they want.
