United States Look Overseas For Scarce Execution Drug. Why Are We Doing This?

http://www.miamiherald.com/2011/03/25/2133900/states-appear-overseas-for-scarce.htmlI keep in mind reading an article that reported that one state attempted to make the drug illegal and adjust it but the law was overturned. If you are killing an individual is torture needed?

United States Look Overseas For Scarce Execution Drug. Why Are We Doing This?

Postby Derebourne » Sat Feb 01, 2014 1:16 pm

I find it interesting that the entertainment industry feels that there are a multitude of ways an assassin can kill someone completely painlessly, but the justice system uses a full-day ritual.of course, I have maintained for years that it should be as simple as giving the judge the authority to tell the criminal he will not be leaving prison alive, and let HIM decide how long he wants to be there.   TheLightWorks 33 months ago

The real answer: Because some bleeding hearts thing that when you kill a human you have to do it in a humane and painless way. In other words, they feel that you should kill someone painlessly. Why are we coddling these prisoners? They have done heinous crimes - murder, rape, torture. Why should we be any more lenient towards alleviating their pain than they were to their victims?I have no problem with hanging or firing squads, or even the use of poisons that make them suffer.   ElBanditoRoso 33 months ago

"If you're killing someone is torture necessary?"Why do you ask?Do you think anyone wants torture? Who would that be?   Gary4books 33 months ago

Yes, I make that assumption. But then, I look at the numbers, like you do. Prosecutors overwhelmingly get it right. Juries overwhelmingly convict the right person - like 99.8 % of the time.Yes, occasionally - very occasionally - the wrong person is put to death. That's a shame, but the flip side is if you DON"T execute someone who deserves it, he exists and kills/rapes/shanks others. So I'm willing to take that risk. Why so many tears for the poor schmuck who is executed wrongly? 400 people a day die in auto accidents. Hundreds more die from the effects of smoking.Sorry, I really don't have much sympathy for the 1 guy out of 10000 who is executed by mistake.   ElBanditoRoso 33 months ago
