What can the GA law do to teens (under 18) riding on land that is not posted?

My boys ride on land that a "dragstrip" used to operate on. Actually not the actual land ...but around it and beyond. There is a back section that has a cabin and lake whose owner passed away years ago (15). It is not posted, no gates or any obstacles blocking routes into. The dragstrip itself was purchased 5 yrs ago by the Safran group who found that they could not build upon it due to the oil in the ground. I do not know who owns it or the land with the lake and cabin but kids and adults go to the lake to fish, and some even pitch tents and campout. The county police chased my kids today (ages 13-15) and threatened arrest, license suspension until 18, YDC (juvie) and of course, taking the vehicle. They said I would hear from a detective. more than 24 hrs later i have not. We were given nothing to read or sign.......the land is not posted "no trespassing" what do you think can really be done? Should I have not had to sign something when they were here? 4 officers also ran over my entire property more than once, without any consent ....can they do that?

They can but it would be hard on both sides.
