What Do Do In Denver, Co For One Day? What Is A Must?

Postby Butcher » Sun Mar 02, 2014 6:56 am

We're going to Loveland the 2nd week of August for the sculpture invitational and will have all day Monday to do "whatever". There are so many things I want to see around the area, but I don't know how to pick. We'll be doing some driving back and forth and around Loveland the whole weekend, so I really don't want to spend the entire Monday in the car. Anyone have any suggestions or recommendations? Hopefully we'll be going back next year for the entire week so we can do a lot of driving, sight-seeing, etc. around the whole area. Since this trip is so short, I'd like to make the best of our Monday in Denver. Thanks! Oh, and is there one place to eat that we shouldn't miss????

I chatted with my sis in CO and she had a great time talking at work with everyone and this is the scoop! ·         Denver Zoo(4 hours) -OR- ·         Tour at Molly Brown House(2 hours) -OR- ·         Denver Aquarium(3 hours) ·         Lunch:  Old Spaghetti Factory 1-2:00pm ·         16th Street Mall (Walk and see shops) ·         Dinner(ESPN Zone, Hard Rock Café, Maggianos, Denver Chophouse, Cheesecake Factory) ·         Movie at 16th Street Mall Pavilions   some other eating ideas: Sonodas - Suishi seafood restaurant www.sonodassushi.com BD Mongolian BBQ   www.gomongo.com Maggianos - Italian     www.maggianos.com   Oh, Maggianos got mentioned twice! must be good!   Then they decided: 1.If you are an indoor person - Museum of Natural History/Nature & Science 2. If you are an outdoor person the Denver Zoo or just walking around the 16th street mall(all outdoors) which is lots of shops and a ton of places to eat with many different choices. So there are some ideas for you from people who live in Denver! Sources: My baby sister in CO(Librarian50 66 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment. Get over to Boulder on Monday, and do some local market research - ask any store owner and they will help find decent restaurants. Laudicio's and Frasca jump in my mind first - but there are so many more! Loveland is about an hour from Denver. Just 15 minutes north is Fort Collins, with a number of very good restaurants. I have no clue as to what else you are interested in, but there are a lot of outdoor things to do(hiking, rafting, bicycling), as well as music, plays, and other cultural events. Colorado also makes more beer in absolute terms than any other state, and you can find out about brewery tours. I recommend searching online for what you are keen to experience. For example, I just found this source: http://www.reporterherald.com/entertainment/

I got to spend approximately the same amount of time as you in Denver. T'was a blast! I'd highly recommend eating dinner at ESPN zone or Hard Rock Cafe if you haven't tried them elsewhere. Great food, huge portions, and really fun.

this is not the Denver area but sense you are already in Loveland, has you been to Estes Park? It is a awesome drive up the Big Thompson Canyon, where you can see bighorn sheep, beautiful rivers. Estes Park itself is a fun town with cute little shop. One place to stop would be the Stanley Hotel, Stephen King wrote the book The Shinning after staying there. They gives tours of the place and you get to go into some of the tunnels that they claim are haunted. After checking out downtown Trail Ridge Road is a nice drive, there are tons of Elk that are fun to watch.     If you insist on going to Denver they has a outstanding Museum of Natural History that will take up most of the day. We enjoy eating at Cinzzettis                     http://www.cinzzettis.com/location.html   it is so yummy.... Enjoy your time we love the Denver area.
