What is Florida Labor Law on commission?

Postby vemados » Tue May 03, 2005 2:28 am

My boyfriend was just let go from his job after working there 6 months for not producing with no previous warnings or anything. He made an hourly income as well as commission was to be paid on anything he sold to be repaired. However, for the past 2 months, they have not been paying commissions to the employees.

Does this fall under the Florida Labor Laws for money owed to employees and not paid?

Thank you.

http://www.dol.gov/dol/topic/wages/commissions.htm

Site for Florida wages and commissions.

Most likely when he was hired, they told him that they "expected" him to sell so much per month. But after 6 months has not met their "goals", so are letting him go.

Contact them with your questions.

good luck
