Suspended signifies it will be put "on hold" pending other developements or proof. Being dropped, it will no longer be an situation and will cease to exist.   kritiper 14 months ago

Ah, so you think also that they may revisit the charges. Well, hopefully McQuaid and Verbruggen will be booted out for the sake of cycling. Kimmage had no funds to fight them so a fund was started and is now over 80K. I hope he doesn't underestimate UCI. Right now they are fighting to regain some respect in the world and they feel defending themselves against false statements,(though they're true) will help. They wont go after LeMond who said basically what they said because they know they'll lose. Instead they go after a down and out journalist and a dethroned TDF winner who wasn't invited to his trial.   clules2 14 months ago

just means it would cost to much to preceed with it or it wouldn't be in their best interest or wouldn't gain anything from it or they settled it or didn't have enough info to proceed   softbabe44 14 months ago

Someone needs more time to gather information and the judge granted the request. It's pretty common. If they have good cause and believe new evidence has arisen.   dww25921 14 months ago

A case being 'dropped' is obvious.A suspended case usually means that a plea of Nolo Contendre(no contest) has been entered & judgement has been 'suspended'. If the defendent isn't arrested for the same(or similar) crime in a predetermined amount of time, charges will be dropped.   culprit 14 months ago

I understand your info, in this case the plaintiffs(UCI) have their hands full with trying to untangle the mess that cycling has become. The case against Kimmage was due to be heard in December, but they(UCI) announced it had been suspended. Now I would imagine because this is Europe "Suspended" means shelved, not dropped. However, one never knows with Europe or UCI. I think the case against Kimmage has to do with defamation as it did with FLoyd Landis, which they settled in court without even notifying the defendant and giving him a chance to be there to defend himself.   clules2 14 months ago
