This is an "instant karma" moment! One of the best kind! For the past two years I've been participating in a cancer survivors' study at the local university hospital. The final meeting was today, so we had to go back and check out. Parking at this facility is a nightmare, and to make matters worse, there's constant construction, and they're always changing where you can park, whether you pay or if it's free, and what you have to do with the parking stubs. And they ticket relentlessly if you get it wrong. This morning, there was a brand-new parking lot, complete with attendant and nasty signs threatening fines, towing, and slow horrible death to those who didn't follow all rules and regulations and get a parking stub to display in their windshield. So I gird my figurative loins, park my car, and go to my clinic visit. At the very end, they thank you individually, weigh you(sigh!), take vitals, wish you well, and then offer you two dollar bills for the new parking fee. So I said to the facilitator that it was okay; I wasn't QUITE that bad off yet, and I knew that some of the other people in the study needed it more. I hop in my car, and drive to the attendant. They're changing shifts. One guy greets me and apologizes. They're fiddling around, looking for something. The guy tells me that he's going to lunch and he's sorry for the delay. I tell him it's fine; I'm not in a hurry. They finally get things settled; he takes my stub, waves away my money, and says, "Thanks for waiting. Have a nice day!" I love it when things happen like this, so very instant karma-ish! Lots of times it's just little things but they always make me smile! Umbalia 68 months ago Please sign in to give a compliment.
