Suppose a DA in a state that allows the death penalty is elected. He makes a pronouncement that the death penalty will never be sought for any crime in his jurisdiction during his tenure. Can he face sanction from the county or state government for saying as much?
BQ: How "good" of a job is it considered to be a prosecutor for a major metropolitan area's District Attorney's office? I ask because I know a few people who went to law school and work for these sleazy personal injury firms, but none who were asked to be prosecutors for the city or federal government.
