My friend's husband is trying to get a visa/ green card to become a permanent resident in the U.S. and he has a bad record, I am going to explain all he has on his record that I want to ask if that goes towards the denial of his green card because of it falling under the "Good Moral Character" category in the application to apply for permanent residency to get a green card. He has more than one DUI, shoplifting charges where he was arrested and sent court papers for, he has been in jail more than once, and has threats against life and/or property (that involves his ex-wife, whom he divorced after abandoning her 6 and a half months pregnant and whom he has a order in the court for child support that he had let go unpaid for 7 years, but now he is starting to pay it off, and in which he has more than one contempt of court for non-payment of child support and admitting to the courts that he knew he owed and didn't pay it). He has speeding tickets where he was caught going 100 mph in a 65 mph zone. He also has a false SSN but they don't want to mention that (can they get in trouble for that or do they have to tell). He hasn't done anything bad since 2008, but they think he has warrants for unpaid tickets and the shoplifting thing, if he goes into court to try to fix it can he without getting arrested for it, can they apply and be accepted if he is making his child support payments and have stayed out of trouble for a while now and just married his girlfriend last week, and he is in the U.S. and has been here the entire time?
