When falling off a tall object, how does one position themselves to minimize injury?

This is a serious question! (I may or may not need the answer for personal reasons.) Although I enjoy sarcastic answers, only a serious answer will be selected!

You want to spread the force over as much surface area as possible, as this will minimize any pain or damage that might occur as a result of your fall. To do this I find that it is best to land horizontally and face down.

When you relax yourself, you can minimise injury. There was a guy that got caught in a tornado, he got knocked out. Since he got knocked out, his body was relaxed, so as soon as the tonado spit him out he was okay, because he was relaxed.
