New York State Child Labor Laws
When school is NOT in session:
7 AM and 9 PM
8 hours per day

40 hours per week

When school is in session:
Between 7 AM and 7 PM

3 hours on a school day

8 hours on a non-school day

Maximum of 18 hours per week



SOOOO, i was wondering where i could get a job in new York, like a local fast food joint or a super market or even a salon sweeping or something. can someone give me some ideas where else i can work? i need 1000 bucks like a week after christmas. im turning 14 in oct. so if i work minimum wage 16 hours a week for 10 weeks i will have enough money. thanks!

Older adults, who are out-of-work and trying to support families during this recession, are now doing jobs performed in the past by young folks. This limits the options for earning money. Why not consider starting a green business that can be done using a bicycle and a few tools. Many have done this while going to college and found it paid far better than what would have made with her degree. There are also other things you can be doing, as noted in the Yahoo Links below
