Why, after 100 years, is a quasi-government agency moving out of San Francisco?

Postby ardwyad » Tue Dec 20, 2011 3:10 pm

After almost 100 years, the State Compensation Insurance Fund is pulling 755 of its 830 jobs out of town, having determined that San Francisco is just too expensive - and its workforce too dumb - for the agency to continue doing most of its business here.

The high cost of Bay Area living is only part of the problem, Vargen said. The agency also seems to have trouble attracting qualified workers here.
"We have to do a lot more testing to get qualified candidates," Vargen said.

I've never heard of an agency leaving an area because it's workforce was too dumb. What are your thoughts?

I am thinking that drugs, inept teachers and liberalism in general are the problem with that area

It sound crazy but I have heard it done before because of costs of leasing floors is not deferred and paid by citizens anymore, low testing by applicants for low paying wages and a flat ceiling for upper mobility. Many agencies have cost cutting right now and its across he board in groups both state and federal

I lived in California for 11 years, and I can say that it is very expensive for individuals and businesses.

But California is not the only place effected by Company Relocation.

How about Kellog Cereal leaving Battle Creek, Michigan for Florida.

Florida can attract companies because the weather is nice and it does not have State Taxes.

Sounds like poor management. Silicon valley is in the same area with the two of the best Universities in the world close by. If Steve Jobs and Mark Zuckerberg can attract people in the same area, it might be some management issues.

Why you ask ? Take a bus downtown and have a look around . People pay a half million for a house that is smaller than my garage . A tour of the giant redwoods is nice . Other than that they can have the place .

All I can say is that I went to San Francisco once and it didn't take 10 minutes to figure out what took these people 100 years to grasp.

Liberalism naturally leads to a dumbing down of a society.

People are tired of paying high taxes for a city full of homeless drunks and smelly hippies.
