Is it a classic case of "Do what I say, not as I do"?

Republicans have no empathy. The rules that they want are for everybody else, not them.

Who could forget Barbara Bush dismissing GWB's drug use as "youthful indiscretion" while advocating harsher punishments for drug offenders.

I'm sure as hell not supporting Santorum.

Not only did he do this, he is a gay basher (IMO it's like who the hell really cares what gay people do), plus he is a gun control advocate. He supported the Lautenburg Gun Ban, he has supported measures like how Feinstein wanted to mandate everybody have trigger locks (another stupid idea).

The guy's just stupid IMO.

Sometimes in a relationship, the two parties have different points of view. I'm sure you'll find that out...if you ever have a relationship.

His WIFE is not running for office. If she didn't do anything illegal, then who cares.

Tort reform refers to people suing for $50 million in punitive damages not a woman trying to be reimbursed for services paid but not rendered. Nice try though.

His WIFE sued...not him.

Unlike liberals, we conservatives don't act/think as a collective.

I guess Santorum and his wife disagree with each other.
doesn't mean they can't be married.

Your problem is you expected consistency and honesty from a politician. This is even more problematic when you expect sanity from a psycho like Santorum.

For those who say "it was his wife": get real. In Santorum's twisted world the wife is subservient to the husband and Santorum should have had the ultimate say. Family values, folks.

@Leila

Actually - tort reformers want to limit all damages to 250k. So, if you child is permanently brain damaged and will need full time care for the rest of his/her life you get 250k maximum, even if the total cost of all of that is well over 1 million. Frivolous lawsuits account for a TINY amount of insurance costs and most people who look into the matter know that. Why don't you wikipedia the McDonalds coffee case and see what actually happened and how bad the injuries actually were.
