Why do humans kill so many animals?

This brought my blood to a boil. There is no justification for it. Sometimes I feel like I am the only one who feels tremors in the earth when this pointless slaughter occurs. Why? I just cannot grasp why humans do this to other creatures. Tigers are endangered, lions are borderline endangered. These animals did not choose to be locked away in cages, they did not choose to live in the society of men. They wanted out, so an opportunity, and took it.

Now animals do not understand the laws of humans, nor the concept of human property, so in escaping, it was no different in their minds than it would be escaping into the wild. So instead of being mature adults, and capturing them, the irresponsibly kill the animals. Who is one man to decide the fate of so many lives. I do not see humans as being more important than the other species on this planet.

I am not a vegan, a vegetarian, nor am I an 'activist.' I am someone who feels deeply in his soul that this slaughter was a grievous sin against the earth. I don't care if anyone laughs at me for my beliefs, I just want to know why, why do they do these evil things?

Why do humans kill so many animals?

You can't call it killing for food in this case, because from what I can draw from, it is a slaughter. Wait a minute, I know what this is. The animals may have been close to attacking people, but killing the exotic animals is a step too far. I agree that humans have become arrogant and stupid. Who are they to believe they are superior? Who are they to believe they have the right to decide the fight of others? We shouldn't be forcing animals to conform to our ways, we should be forcing ourselves to see realise that we are not superior. We should learn to co-exist.

Should the human animal be any different than other earthbound creatures? I think it's just instinct to hunt and kill. But humans also raise them. Are you outraged at chickens, for example, that were raised to be killed? They've become a product; there isn't any animosity. If you want to feel more for lesser creatures, then that's your choice. But I think the only thing that will make any difference is feeling more for your fellow human animals.

Because mankind in general has little understanding of the importance of life.
Those that kill or slaughter indiscriminately have no conscience.
Mankind does not understand his place and purpose in life.
Because mankind denies The True God.
The list is long.
If mankind were to be punished according to his/her deeds many would cease to exist.

People take so many things for granted, and don't respect that which they have power over. A lot of people appear to lack compassion as well. These things combined is really an equation for murder and destruction.

It's instinct. People naturally like seeing other things being hurt and killed. eh. We'll get over it eventually.
