Why does maryland workers compensation take so long to pay you your money?

i had an accident on march 22nd 2010 i filed workmens comp onmarch 26th and i have not received any answer. whats up?

Well if you filed it through your company then you need to follow up. If you filed it through your doctor then you need to follow up. See the pattern? Follow up with both your company and your doctor to see if the claim was already filed. If you don't have your claim number and nobody called you then your claim probably wasn't turned in by either parties.

You can also contact the state insurance board and ask them about your situation. If you already have a claim then you can let them know that you haven't gotten paid.

If you already heard from your work comp adjuster and know the claim number then it's probably something to do with a doctors note. You need to provided a off work slip to get money from work comp. If you do have one and still not getting paid, then contact your adjuster.
