Why don't people realize that our American Culture is what makes us so Violent?

People tend to live in self-denial and ignore aspects of themselves they would consider negative.

Exactly. Marx and Ernesto Guevara wrote about the connection between culture and the mode of production, but I digress. We need to build a society where greed and selfish behavior are not encouraged or rewarded.

We used to teach firearm safety in the schools, and personal responsibility, and students weren't allowed to mouth off and do whatever they wanted. Idiot politicians said that was wrong.

We used to limit the violence shown on TV and the movies. We didn't have all the first person shoot everything video games. Idiot politicians said that violated our freedom of speech.

Parents used to be able to discipline their own kids. Idiot politicians said that's abusive.

I see a trend.
