Why is it racist to ask for a green card?

Postby beacher » Wed Nov 30, 2011 2:28 pm

My wife and grandmother both came to America legally and proudly have and will show there permanent residence cards if you came to America legally welcome if you did not you are ILLEGAL and should be arrested and deported to your country of origin we have laws for a reason but if you are illegal the law is racist the law only applies to legal citizens if I break the law I am punished but my skin color is white so that's ok oh my wife is legally from Mexico and my grandmother from Canada why did they have to obey the law our country is lost to political correctness and our children will pay the people who died for freedom did not die for lawlessness or did they we are doomed to be just like Mexico Haiti and every other country were there is wealthy and poor no in between if you have children and you are for illegal immigration you are dooming your children wait and see AGAIN IF YOU CAME TO AMERICA LEGALLY WELCOME IF NOT YOU SHOULD BE DEPORTED

Why is it racist to ask for a green card?

It's not... People like to use any excuse to make Americans feel bad for law-breakers like illegals .

Why is it racist to ask for a green card?

Postby advent » Wed Nov 30, 2011 3:12 pm

It is not racist to ask for a Green Card. It's plain illegal, unless the person asking is a federal agent (CIA, FBI, ICE) and is doing this in the line of his duty.

Somebody who is not a federal agent is not authorized to inquire about a person's citizenship or immigration status. Even employers who have to keep an I-9 form on file are not allowed to ask for a Green Card, as it's within the employee's discretion which documents to provide. For employment purposes this would be a state-issued driver's license and an unrestricted SS card. This rule is in place to prevent discrimination against foreigners based on their immigration status or lack thereof. Keep in mind that somebody who's in the U.S. with a work visa, i.e., an H1-B, is neither an immigrant nor does he have a Green Card.

Police is not allowed to ask for a Green Card either, as immigration is a federal, not a state issue.
