Why should illegals get dream act when they are now walking out of class on school time to protest?

Students from several area high schools walked out of class and walked to Arizona's State Capitol Friday morning.

The students are protesting SB 1611, which makes numerous changes to immigration law.

"This state legislature continues to introduce divisive legislation and now our students are scared, threatened and are taking desperate actions by walking out of class to march to the State Capitol," said Sen. Steve Gallardo. "SB1611 is unconstitutional and is nothing, but politicking."

SB1611 was passed by the Senate Appropriations Committee on February 23 and hasn't been heard by the full Senate.

"The Republican majority is wasting the voters' time with out-of-touch legislation that is not the priority of Arizonans who want quality education, work and health care for their families," said Gallardo. "This legislation does nothing, but scare our children and put them in dangerous situations."

Gee Jill, you and your fellow Arizonans sure do hate the Constitution, don't you? Why is it that you want to deny students their basic free speech rights? So what if they walked out of class? I'm sure that there will be appropriate repercussions for that.

I have some questions: Why is the state of Arizona again trying to usurp federal laws? Why do Arizonans blame all their financial woes on Hispanics? Is it because Russell Pearce wants to prevent them from voting for Democrats?

The state of Arizona is fast becoming quite fascist. When are the grown ups going to stop this lunacy?

Wow are you really that narrow minded? It clearly says in the first amendment, freedom of speech/ press/ assembly. These kids have every right to leave school for ONE day to go to protest. Whats the difference if you get out of work to go protest something like health care when your job is the one who provides it for you??? These kids want a better future, and one day that they leave to protect a belief that they have shouldn't effect anything.

Speaking of the Constitution.Obamacare was ruled unconstitutional by a federal judge. King Obama basically said “forget that! I’m implementing it anyway”.DOMA (Defense of Marriage Act) is the law. Obama said “I don’t like that law and we are not defending its constitutionality”. A federal ruling said Obama’s deep offshore drilling moratorium in Louisiana is illegal and ordered it lifted. Again, Obama simply ignored the federal ruling.Federal immigration law is much tougher than Arizona’s new Law. The Arizona law says if someone is stopped for a traffic violation or suspected of a crime, they must show proper ID. Well dah! All Americans are required to show ID in such situations. Obama wants members of a special ethnic group to be protected from such inquiry. Thus, Obama has declared the Arizona law racist and is suing Arizona for enforcing “federal law”. Obama views illegals as potential future new democrat voting supplicants.Obama wants to force health workers to perform abortions whether they like it or not. The “Conscience Rule” protects health workers who refuse to participate in abortions or other medical procedures that go against their moral and religious beliefs. Obama is working on rescinding that law.
The new Black Panther Party is guilty of voter intimidation in Philadelphia. King Obama refuses to press charges against the new Black Panthers; now get this folks, because they are black. His royal enforcer, Attorney General, Eric Holder, who is black, told the House Appropriations subcommittee that the New Black Panther voter intimidation case demeans “my people.”Holder went on to explain that the suffering of African Americans seeking the right to vote in the South in the 60s far surpass the intimidation white voters recently endured in Philadelphia. So much for any pretense of King Obama dispensing equal justice to all Americans. We’re talkin’ Affirmative Action justice.
