Will China be able to lead the world if their Government was different?

I see a lot of criticism...majority coming from Westerners, particulary Americans...and I think I'll side with the Americans.. Chinese government...not because it's China but because of human rights, intellectual property theft, etc. But i believe the currency manipulation dispute is misunderstood. but anyway yeah ? opinions?

A change in government structure and a complete revamping of the corrupt-to-the-core CCP would certainly improve China's odds of becoming a world leader.

It's a theoretisch problem. Nobody can sure that. But in my point, China do have its advantage.
If China can lead the world, it needs a long time. However, China prefers common development.

Will they or would they? It would be easier for many nations to see a nation that is controlled by its people as the leader of the developed nations. China looks like a nation that is controlled by a group of associates just like big companies and many developed nations do not see this as leadership qualities. This group of associates abuse the country (pollution, land control, schools etc) with no regards for the damage done to the people. What they do appears almost like they plan to make all the money possible then run to another part of the world to relax and live the easy life. The same M.O. as many CEO's or others who know soon the laws will catch up to them and they must have a safe place to lay back. This shows no leadership on the part of China so how could any other developed nation see them as leadership quality? A responsible government run by the people would be a big step in the right direction for China.
