Would they become property to be sold and traded for other goods and services such as food, water, and transportation?? Seems like that's how it would be.

Pretty much, except for the crafty women who are good at hiding and surviving alone.

The survivors would set up law, government and infrastructure as they were able. Probably in each area that saw survivors, the parameters would be different.

"Might makes right" would prevail for a while, but the stronger communities would be the ones where intelligence was valued just as highly, regardless of gender. Also, I know some female police officers, female members of the military, etc who would frown heavily on the idea that anyone owned them simply because they were women.

Before we built civilization people rarely behaved like that. They generally formed tribes and looked after one another. I can't help but feel that the trafficking and abuse of women is something that has come with currency and civilization. Not saying we should ban it, that would be silly. We cannot go back because we have adapted so much to it and we rely on it. However, if we were to break down I think we would all eventually go back to our old customs, and the abuse of women and weaker people would actually drop. Nothing would stop completely, but people would stop doing corrupt things for profit so much and they would care more about each other. People would be too busy working together to survive and the bonds between us would be stronger.

Probably. In the old days it was quite common for a band of ruthless men to tear through a town and kill the men and children and take the women into slavery and forced marriages. Also, some civilizations had traditions that, in order to gain justice from another tribe that wronged them, they would kill all the men and sell the women and children into slavery. In civilized societies we do hear of these things happening, but not so much as it used to be. But, if chaos happened overnight you can bet that woman- in particular young women- would be the first to be grabbed and exploited. Anarchy always happens when a government falls and it continues until a new order is established.
