Will my personal injury compensation effect my student loan?

Postby shashank » Wed Apr 06, 2011 7:46 am

In December 2009 I broke my hip, and filed a personal injury claim. We've accepted an offer of £10,000 as compensation for the injury, and difficulties caused because of it.

However, the cheque will be cashed to my bank account, and I was wondering if this will effect my student loan for university. My family have relatively low income so I'm eligible for certain loans and bursaries.

I'm wonder if this compensation will effect the loan in any way, whether it will be taken into account when I apply for my loan, and if it will mean I'm entitled to less financial help at university.

Your personal injury compensation has nothing to do with the educational loan.

No, but be prepared to explain it if you are ever asked about 'other income'.
