Here is a little back story. I was once a addict of opioids and got treatment. I currently take Methadone to manage my withdraw and have been slowly going down and have not yet had a withdraw once since I have been getting clean. Anyways, I went to the hospital on friday because I was having really bad stomach pain (not related to my treatment or previous drug abuse) It was a gaulstone. When I got there I told my nurse I was on Methadone and that I cant take benzos or opioids. She scowled at me and treated me poorly (oh well, I'm used to it.) So they diagnosed me and prescribed me 50mg Ultram and told me to take them for pain. I got home took them and they caused sever and immediate withdraw. I called back the hospital and told them and they responded "No it didn't, you can take them". So I suffered through hell lastnight and this morning and I called my clinic where I am given my dose of methadone and asked them. They told me that Ultram should never be mixed with methadone because it causes withdraw symptoms and does more harm than good. I feel that this is an act of negligence of basic knowledge and the fact that even when I called and told them the Ultram wasn't going good they insisted I take it. I am not a expert in this sort of thing and would like some opinions from you'll who might know.
