Would making guns illegal create less deaths in the U.S.?

Postby bothan » Wed Aug 01, 2012 6:06 pm

The way I see it is most people are ticking time bombs and being next to one with a loaded weapon would be scary.

I will be happy with only soldiers carrying the guns, i don't trust a man thinking he could protect his family as much as a gangster, while standing next to both of them.

In the United Kingdom firearms are tightly controlled by law, and there is little political debate and no strong public opposition to control. The United Kingdom historically had one of the lowest rates of gun homicides in the world even before gun control legislation became stricter from the late twentieth century. In the United Kingdom in 2009 there were 0.07 recorded intentional homicides committed with a firearm per 100,000 inhabitants; for comparison, the figure for the ** United States was 3.0, about 40 times higher, and for Germany 0.2

Would making guns illegal create less deaths in the U.S.?

Gun deaths in England around 60.

Gun deaths in Japan around 40.

Per year.

In the US, around 22,000.

Only complete morons are willing to put aside actual numbers and facts for theoretical hodgepodge. Like "Guns don't kill people." or "They'd find other ways." or "It'd make it more dangerous."

Truth is for decades the data has been clear that legalized and easily accessible guns do cause more deaths in civilized countries.

No, only population control would do that. The more people that are alive, the more people that are going to die.

It might fix some problems but people will still smuggle them in. There's no way really to keep it gun free.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. Two possibilities exist
1)You are a very clever troll and trying to incite angry responses(most likely with success)
2) You are indeed serious about these statements and it is a miracle that God himself would have to take 2 moments to explain, how you are alive and how your organs haven't shut down due to lack of brain function.

No illegalizing guns wont make a difference. Like I always say when I come across questions like this. It has nothing to do with guns, it's who owns the gun/s. I own a shotgun, but you dont see me going around popping people or gettin head shots. I'm not a sociopath or psycopath. I bought it to fight off burglars. My house has been robbed twice and some stupid teenagers tried to steel my Dodge Viper once. Of course I'm not going to shoot them, but I'll just take it out and chase em off. Besides if guns were illegal, what's the point of the 2nd amendment.
