Writing help for scholarship.?

Read carefully

I am trying to win a Scholarship and the Essay I need to write needs to be exactly 300 words so, I wrote it in a fashion that would fit my reasons but, I want to know does it catch the readers attention. If you make any changes to it make sure it's exactly 300 words or tell me if I need to be a little more specific or take off stuff put something else in.

here is my essay.

Art History is more than studying the visual arts on civilization, but it examines visual culture that encompasses literature, history, anthropology, sociology, philosophy, gender studies, critical theory, and cultural studies. Art History emphasizes visual as well as verbal and written literacy, providing more than the liberal art advantages. In addition Art History embraces aspects of economic, social and political history yet, students gain skills to analyze images around to prepare and deliver illustrated presentations.

Furthermore Art History also gives students they have the skills of critical thinking, creative thinking, analytical writing, visual analysis and interpretation, cross-cultural communication, historical/archival research methods and self-directed learning. We study a timeline bigger through artistic period which allows us to see where our artistic roots began to reflect on them in our personals way to understand how each style or method evolved. To learn where the ‘roots’ of influence originated from so one can get a close intimate view of the whole picture by, glimpsing into the past to see what have motivated the artists and prompted creative decisions.

However, in the financial climate the arts and humanities are a lower priority in subject matter so the value of art history and visual culture should never be forgotten nor be overlooked by those wanting to have a creative yet academic degree which offers a wide ranging field of study, and provides graduates skills applicable in many employment sectors. Art History also helps those pursue a study in Art/Culture law in a domestic and international context for, Art/Cultural law is the body of law includes the context of domestic and foreign law, multilateral treaties, and conventions that regulate and is applied to artists, fine art and cultural property providing a visual window crossing the fine boundaries of earlier/modern civilization influences for the rest of the world.

Hope to get some feedback on this.
