3 month warranty on used car?
Hi everyone,
Can anyone on here who knows a little on my consumer rights help me out as to what my options are.
I know when buying a used car you usually get a 3 month warranty
I have only done about 1600 miles
I purchased a used 2008 Kia sedona with 18700 miles on 17/02/12 and now 30/04/12 with 20300 miles the front brakes/discs are warped causing heavy vibration whilst braking.
Will I be covered as I don't think the car was safe to sell ie they check tyres etc before selling
I also paid an extra £500 for a two year warranty which is not worth the paper its printed on. I got the car from cardiff evans halshaw and had it delivered to Liverpool at a cost of £170. The selling of the car was done by telephone and was told the 2 year warranty covers a lot more than other warranty's you can purchase from other companies etc but after reading through the things it does not cover I could of got the same cover for about £300 online.
I know people can say wear and tear but I have only had the car two months and after paying over £11000 I don't want to really pay out more.
The underlying problem must of been there when sold . I have had a car with brakes/discs that warped in the past but the car had done over 80000 miles.
I am just wondering if a garage can sell a car that has such a problem? Are they meant to do thorough checks?
Any help?
I dint want to get in touch with the garage until i know a little more about what my rights, if any are.
Thanks in advance
I may re post this later as not many people may be up at this silly hour
