52 in 30 MPH speed limit in NY?? Help please!!?

Postby gilleabart » Thu Aug 02, 2012 3:46 pm

So I received a ticket tonight on my motorcycle going 52 in a 30 (and yes I know its fats, it was late, i just got off work, and my speedometer was fogged up)

MY worries are that i could lose my license or mess up my pretty good driving record.

I am not a NY resident either and originally hail from NC if that makes a difference?

But what kind of penalties am I facing and what can I do to reduce it or make it go away? I already plan on getting a lawyer but would like to have a game plan anyway.

Thank you to all

I doubt they would revoke your license over that. If they actually wrote the ticket showing that you were going 22 over, they might throw reckless driving at you which comes with a big old ticket. In other states you can get that off of your record by doing a certain number of hours in traffic school, but I don't know if New York does that or not.
