Yes, debtor is eligible for discharge. 11 USC 727(a)(8). Conversion is irrelevant; code refers to "case commenced within 8 years".
You say "client". I sincerely hope you are not an attorney. If you are an attorney and you don't know the answer to this question, and your only resource for answering this question is Yahoo Answers, then I have grave concerns about your ability to protect the interests of your client.
