if anyone here has any knowledge about bankruptcy laws please help me i wanna file for chapter 7 bankruptcy i made a few credit card mistakes in the past now i don;t have a way of paying it back i read some things online about filing for chapter 7 but the info wasn't really what i was looking for I need to know how much would it cost me to get a lawyer for the case and how soon after i file could i start by rebuilding my credit again in two years or so im thinking of saving up to buy a house would i get approved for a mortgage and how long it would stay on my credit for. Thank you.

The cost to file for Chapter 7 can vary widely depending on where you live: $1,500 - $2,000 is a good approximation...After you file you'll have bad credit for 2 years...but you can have good credit again in 3 years out of filing. BK does not destroy your credit rating forever. It stays for 10 years on your credit report.
