Being a Police Officer?

I'm 16 years old and I've always though about being a Police Officer in Chicago. I live in Chicago so that is why I'm so specific. Law interest me and I always score high in my law classes. But I want to know more. I want to know what its like. I want to be the good guy chasing the bad guy. I'm extremely fit and want to see action. I don't want to be a desk Jockey. I want information from Police officers, re-tiered officers, wife's of officers, husbands of police officer or anyone around that nature. So if you could help me out it would be great. Oh and do I have to go to alot of court cases?

go speak to someone at the police department, they will do their best to help. go on a ride-along
