i have a suit case against my employer, and my lawyer in charge it's not doing anything for mi

You can dismiss your lawyer and attempt to try your case on your own. Not suggested though. Be a squeaky wheel. Call incessantly and bug them until it gets rolling like it should. If you're just trying to get money as soon as possible, go away. Maybe your case is garbage and the attorney doesn't want to mess with it.

You can always represent yourself, but unless you have the time and drive to learn the law, the odds of you winning are slim.
