I did some work as an M.Turk when I was bored one night. I actually ended making about $95. I never thought much about it, and about 3 weeks later I went ahead and tried to spend the money on Amazon one night. as soon as I tried to put the money on a gift card I was told that the transaction could not be completed be cause of the status as a Turk. I was perplexed because just before requesting the money my status was ok. So I shot off an E-mail to the fine people at the Mechanical Turk team and they contacted me back and said that I had violated a policy and they were not required to tell me which policy. I then went on to request they call me, which they did, and the person on the phone said that all he could tell me is that my status was revoked, money forfeited and tough luck i won't tell you why. That was 2009. Every quarter since June of 2009, they (Amazon) has sent me a quarterly earnings report for $95.77. About once a year I try to collect and I am told "NO". I then started to demand that they return the money to the company i did the work for that night so many years ago. They then respond that it is not their policy to return money once it is earned, and they then tell me that the requester was satisfied with the work i did. Yet they still won't tell me why I can't have the money. They insist they do not have to tell me what policy i violated because it "proprietary information" In the last E-mail I received from them I was told that the matter had been resolved and to no longer contact Amazon......3 months later I get a quarterly earnings statement saying I have, that right $95.77. Can I sue Amazon in small claims court?
