Can my dental employer require me to work 9 hours without a break?

Postby regenweald » Mon Jul 09, 2012 12:22 am

I work for a Wisconsin dentist who wants to change her summer hours. We will be required to work 6:30am-3:15pm or later, without a break. WI labor laws are mute on this but what about FSLA requirements?

No breaks are required at all under federal law.

Sorry, but dial back the over entitlement. Do it or quit. Plus, you can't tell me you don't get some downtime at your desk.

Go to the Fair Labor Standards Act and check. Federal Law may be different.

WI follows FSLA standards that says no adult employee gets breaks of any kind in the workplace
