Can someone be arrested for a txt saying I'll kick your *** if they got a txt saying i'll **** up your life?

ok my boyfriend found out his best friend cheated on his gf. So when his best friend found out he knew he sent him a text saying you tell her and i'll **** up your life. So the best friend tells me my boyfriend cheated, which is bogus, anyways, so my boyfriend gets mad that his name has been drug through the mud to protect his so-called friends so he sends him a text saying i'll kick your ***. I need answers please only serious ones and even better if you know Alabama laws please

well save the texts.....that always helps your case in court if it goes to it. no matter where you are in any state of the US....eidence always helps.. so save the texts. i would tell her and if he attempts anything.....saying the guy does.....restraining orders are helpful and if its violated ......jailtime
