Can someone work when they are wanted in another state?

This person I've know for 5 months has lived in our state for 7yrs. Where he is from he had alot of drug/cop issues, his ex wife is in prison for drug charges. All I know is he has 2 jobs, a state ID but no drivers license. He has kids in his home state that he only keeps in touch with from his ex wifes parents and that only sounds like its once a yr if even. He just keeps alot to himself, has a paranoia about people looking up his information online so he tells everyone he is a different age and hides his middle name. My question is can someone leave behind a different life and build a new one with an alias. Can they work a job thats not paid under the table if tthey are running from cops in a different state? They had to give a social securtiy number for their job so does that mean this person cant be running from the law?

It is possible, but it hard to do it nowadays. The guys probably clean.

You are harboring a known fugitive. YOU could get into trouble and have a record when they finally catch up to this guy. A broken tail light, a simple stop, he has no ID so they run his prints and bang.
And how has he been surviving all this time?

but if he's running from a misdemeanor rather then a felony it makes it easier
