In the state of nebraska the CI law states in order for the CI to do drugs the state attorney need to sign?

So if you get in trouble with the law from these CI's who are doing drugs which is commiting a crime while being a CI there should be a signed paper from the U.S. attorney right? Your attorney should ask for it, if not one found can this be a reason to dismiss the case?

If what you say is true, then it sounds like it's either an adminstrative issue for the police and the attorneys to deal with, or it's conceivably an issue for the CI to be prosecuted for.

I doubt very much that it would be something that would cause a case to be dismissed.

No, it is not a reason to dismiss the case. it would only mean that the CI can also get charged for using the drugs also.
The law is to protect the CI only.

and of course unless it is part of the actual evidence, proving the CI actually did any drugs would be another issue.

Okay, is the question about Nebraska state law or federal law? It looks like state, but you mention the U.S. attorney.

Not a reason to dismiss the case, it only brings into question the CI's reliability. That is usually not an issue since the police will generally have to independently verify the CI's information.

Stop using and selling drugs and you won't have to worry about it. Why are people always trying to blame the accuser?
