Christians: What is this "Traditional Marriage" you always speak of?

Postby napayshni65 » Sat Jul 14, 2012 9:05 pm

Traditional marriage is between a man and a woman which God (Jesus) had stated. Of course before the great flood there was polygamy but these people had fallen into wickedness and displeased God. Under Noah and his family polygamy was no longer allowed, marriage had become monogamous. Of course the kings of Israel and Judah had fell into paganism and had taken many wives and concubines but of course during these times they were not in favor with God. King David's downfall was because of a woman, and his son King Solomon who was the wisest king his downfall was because of a woman.
And it was not uncommon for a widows spouse to die in which only their male children were allowed to inherit property, but if the widow had no children their brother-in-law was had to marry them and from this union their male child would be the heir of the widow's deceased spouse. This is just how it was back then in any society.
And of course as a victory of war soldiers were permitted to court their women prisoners, but they could not take them as their slaves. The woman prisoner had the right to refuse the soldiers proposal to her.
And the whole rape thing is a misinterpretation of Scripture. If a man were to have relations with another man's daughter this was considered as rape even though she consented. But because of this deception if they were caught the man would have to take her as his wife and pay her father a dowry of 50 shekels and he was not allowed to divorce her. If it was forced by the man upon the woman the punishment for this crime would be death.

Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn’t changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can’t marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Brittany Spears’ 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn’t be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren’t full yet, and the world needs more children.

Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That’s why we have only one religion in America.

Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That’s why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven’t adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

How about Adam and Eve. One man one woman.

Get your excuses out of here, the truth is clearly seen.
