Compensation after leaving the job?

My fiance injured his back at perform, in upkeep, January 2010.

He filed report, saw a medical doctor, got an MRI and was diagnosed with a protruding disc. He then received hydrocortisone injections in August and September 2010. Felt greater but Discomfort Clinic advised another injection in October 2010 and every 6 months or yearly as needed, but work said he felt greater, so he was completed. Ok, no difficulty...go on.

Then in December 2010 he was fired for a nonrelated issue and now we have no insurance coverage and beginning February 2013 he is a lot worse. So my question is..
Can he still acquire Workmans Comp rewards? Former employer nonetheless accountable for therapies?
