Could I use text and facebook messages as evidence in small claims court?

Postby calvert » Sat Feb 25, 2012 1:48 am

A "friend" owes me $250 for the past 3 months. I was supposed to move in with him but due to monetary problems I could not. I have asked several times and he will not get back to me or he is strapped for cash. I waited for the new year to ask again because his rent is paid for the month. Anyway I have witnesses and the only IOU I have is when he acknowledges that he owes me money on facebook and in text messages. If it helps I live in Ohio. I figured I would ask here before going to the prosecutors office.

Oh sorry for you mam! we just can't! because i can edit your messages on fb if you were my friend and talking to me! i simply can do it by clicking on the text itself with the right button.....then...inspect elements/or inspecter les elements(in frensh)......then....a html page will appear, you look for the message in it then you select it, then you click on it with the right button and choose 'edit' and write every thing you want which will take the place of the old msg!

I suggest you not go to the prosecutor's office. This isn't a criminal matter and they'll be pretty annoyed with you. They might even call you a few colorful names.

A prosecutor won''t do anything since this is a civil matter. You'll have to sue.
