Death of Apple Steve Jobs?

Postby jen » Sun Nov 20, 2011 12:09 pm

Why are other competitors of Apple saying nice words and tributes when Steve Jobs dies. And with the other hand they have patent wars with them. Seems weird to me, read this http://www.forbes.com/sites/mobiledia/2011/10/06/bill-gates-mark-zuckerberg-pay-tribute-to-steve-jobs/

Business and Friendships do not mix. You compete at work. You celebrate success outside of work. I work as a professional, and I am all business at work.

Death of Apple Steve Jobs?

Having a disagreement with someone should not blind you to the fact that they have a great mind and have done wonderful things. Steve Jobs had a great mind and great vision - whether you loved him or hated him does not change the fact that he had a brilliant mind and terrific business sense. People aren't being asked whether they liked the guy - they are being asked what sort of person he was and what contribution he has made to society.

because everyone knew that Steve Jobs had a great mind. Like all of the companies lived off of him. He came up with the ideas and then other companies would copy him, now they have nobody to "cheat" off of. They also are probably sad and feel bad because he was a great guy and created so many revolutionary products.

If they said the negative things they wanted to, they'd get trashed for it, because people care ONLY about recently deceased powerful people.

When someone dies, important or not, you show some respect. You separate business matters from the somber mood of the moment.

Not weird at all - you can be in competition with someone and regard them as superb.
