Do I have a case to sue for medical malpractice?

Postby nissim42 » Fri Apr 01, 2011 4:13 am

First of all, I live in the UK. When I was 13 I had to go into hospital to get circumcised as it turned out that my foreskin was too tight. It actually got stuck when it was retracted and so after they had sorted it, they decided to circumcise. Well, as it turns out it was a "botched" circumcision as I have suffered a complete loss of sensitivity! It's so annoying as it really does affect my sex life to the point where I've lost interest really. I mean, what's the point if you can't feel it, right?

The thing is, I probably didn't become sexually active properly until I was 22. So I didn't really know that something was definitely wrong until then. I've asked various people before if I can take action against the National Health Service but there seems to be a lot of head-shaking going on! I think that it's atrocious that someone's life has been affected so much and he doesn't even have the chance of getting some financial compensation out of it! What do u think?

are your medical symptoms of before and after documented in medical records ? Even if you were not sexually active until 22, did you seek medical advice ? I think your chances are good for a suit against them.

you poor thing, i really feel for you, my son went through a really bad botched circumcision when he was five, the hospital sent him home an hour after the opp with dressing left on that should of been taken off in recovery, we just thought it was normal, until i phoned them three hours later when he was screaming the house down, had to bring him back, they put him in a bath for an hour, to try and soften it, and then just ripped it off, very bad, infection, stitches, and blood, i tryed to sue but the hospital lost a lot of records, and seamed to of forgot the bath thing, denied a lot of stuff. so all i can say is good luck and go for it, thank god my son had no lasting damage, hes 20 now so i think every things ok
